Shreve Memorial Library Board Meeting Minutes March 12, 1987 Page 4 staff would notify the Association and Mrs. Nelson about what items were purchased. Motion passed. Shreve Memorial Library is the host for the Northwest Louisiana Library Trustees Association this year. This means that the Board will need to accumulate enough money for the meal and incidental items including any speaker's expenses. The director suggested that this be held in the fall -- probably October. Haller Jackson moved and Ellen Caverlee seconded a motion that the director set a date and proceed with any other details necessary at this time. Motion passed. The Louisiana Library Association (LLA) will hold its annual meeting in Alexandria on April 1-3. Any Board members interested in attending may go. Lane Sartor and Haller Jackson commented on how informative the meetings have been in the past and encouraged anyone who can to go. Lane Sartor had a call from State Representative Bruce Lynn who said that the Rodessa people wanted to know what plans the Library had for the Rodessa Branch. Bruce Lynn thought that the town was going to use some state funds to build a new building -- perhaps for a town hall and the library. Cindy Ortego made contact with the Mayor of Rodessa who said that this would be a community center and neither the library nor town hall would be moved. Lottie Hinson was probably going to retire soon and they were afraid we would close the library there. Cindy Ortego assured them that we do not have any intentions to do that. In the future they were encouraged to contact the Library directly if they had concerns about their branch. Meeting adjourned. Jim Pelton Secretary
