SHREVE MEMORIAL LIBRARY BOARD MEETING. June Meeting 1937. The Shreve Memorial Library Board met Friday, June 18 at 10:30 in the Librarian's office, with the following members present; Mayor Sam S. Caldwell, Mr. Dolph Frantz, Chairman, Miss Mary Jewel Kimball, Mrs. L.F. Clawson, Mrs. Percy Meyer, Mrs. D.C. Dickson, Mr. A.M. Shaw, Jr. and Mr. John Lyles. Mr. Dolph Frantz, Chairman, presided. A monthly report of the library's activities were passed out to each member present. A discussion of the library's rate on overdue books was started by Mr. Shaw who said he believed the fines which were 5???? a day were too high for the branch libraries. Mayor Caldwell made a motion to the effect that teh fines be reduced from 5???? a day to 3???? a day throughout the library system, city and parish included. It was seconded by Mrs. Dickson and passed by the Board unanimously. The next subject brought up for discussion was the negro library service introduced by Mr. Shaw who advocated that more money be spent
