Minutes, Library Board of Control, October 20, 1988, Page 3 2. Confidentiality Policy. This is designed to protect the library and staff against requests for information contained in the database and also make the staff aware that a patron's record is confidential. 3. Security Policy. These policies describe appropriate and inappropriate behavior as well as proper and improper use of the library. 4. Library Drivers and Use of Library Vehicles. This policy sets conditions for use of library vehicles and guildelines for drivers. After discussion, Haller Jackson moved and Jack Stutsman seconded a motion to adopt the policies as recommended with the following two changes as recommended by the Executive Committee. The changes are as follows: 1. The maximum number of items a patron can have overdue is five before a patron is blocked from checking out more materials. 2. On the security policy, the word 'e3xclusive' is to be substituted for the word 'inclusive' on page 3 in the first paragraph under the State and Local laws section. Haller Jackson said this was the appropriate legal language that should be used. Motion Passed. DESIGN FOR LIBRARY PLAZA Bruce Kevil had brought over a concept drawing for the Library Plaza area. The Library Board and staff along with a group from the DDA came up with ideas which were incorporated into the drawing at a design charette working with the assistance of the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. We were now at the point where the Board needs to review the design concept. If it is generally acceptable, then the DDA would work on getting an architectural estimate for the cost of construction and ongoing maintenance. It was understood that the Board would have input on the design phase and that the current drawing was only to show the basic conceptw and type of elements that would be included in the final plan. Members discussed the design and our approach to the project.
