Minutes of the Shreve Memorial Library Board October 8, 1981 Page 2 Lane Sartor explained the request from Neff Construction Company for an additional $984.46 because of underground obstructions encountered when digging the footings for the fence. Jack Stutsman moved and Haller Jackson seconded a motion to approve the additional expenses. Jim Pelton reported that the Public Librarians had decided to ask for $1.00 per capita in State Aid for Library Materials. If approved, this would increase the grant that Shreve Memorial Library receives from $95,848 to $252,000. No action is required by board members at this time. Green Gold will continue a delivery service. This will cost each member library $606 for the fiscal year October 1, 1989 to September 30, 1982. No motion was needed on this since the funds were approved in the budget. Statistics for the first four Sundays of service (See Attachment #5) were distributed and discussed. Jim Pelton reported that there had been a demand to open the Genealogy Section for additional hours, particularly Sunday. Mavice Wallette moved and Jack Stutsman seconded a motion to approve continuation of Sunday hours and have Jim Pelton explore opening and staffing the third floor. Sunday openings would again be reviewed the first week in November by the Executive Committee who would make a final recommendation and then poll the members for final approval. Motion carried. Lane Sartor announced that the parish had asked the board to temporarily house the law library at Shreve Memorial Library Headquarters. However, the request was withdrawn by the parish.
