SHREVE MEMORIAL LIBRARY. December 10, 1930. Minutes of Meeting. The Shreve Memorial Library Board met on Wednesday, December 10, 1960 at 4 o'clock in the office of the librarian. The following members were present: Mr. Hardin, Mrs. Bain, Mrs. King, Mr. Houston, Mrs. Hird, Mr. Gordon, Mr. Slattery. Mayor Palmer was unable to attend the meeting and Mrs. Ellerbe was reported out of town. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and approved. The new business to come before the Board was the consideration of applications and thier supporting recommendations for the position of librarian of Shreve Memorial Library. Applications were submitted by the following persons: Mrs. C.Y. Brandau, Miss Julia Rogers, Mrs. Maude Hearn O'Pry, Mrs. Lois White Henderson. After all applications had been brought to the attention of the board, Mrs. Brandau, Mrs. O'Pry, and Mrs. Henderson appeared in person. The Board having duly considered all applications, a motion was made by Mrs. Bain and seconded by Mr. Gordon that the Board proceed to make its recommendations to the Council for the appointment of a Librarian. After some further discussion regarding the applications presented, the following resolution, moved by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mrs. Hird, was passed unanimously by the Board. Be it resolved by the Library Commission of the Shreve Memorial Library, after due consideration of all applications for the position of Librarian of said Library, that the Commission is of the opinion that among the applicants for the position, the present Librarian, Mrs. Lois White Henderson, is best qualified by training and experience, and it submits her name to the Mayor and Commission Council to be continued in the
