SHREVE MEMORIAL LIBRARY Board Meeting January 19, 1967 The Shreve Memorial Library Board met in the Larkin Edwards Room at the main library Thursday, January 19, at 10:00 o'clock with the following members present: Mrs. Marvin W. Bass, President, Mayor Clyde E. Fant, Mrs. Vernon Woods, Mr. Robert H. Nelson, Jr., Mr. Hardy A. O'Ceal and Mr. R.B. Williamson. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. Mr. Roberth H. Nelson, Jr. was unanimously elected President of the Board, after nomination by Mr. O'Neal, which was seconded by Mr. Williamson. Mrs. Marvin W. Bass was elected Vice-President, after nomination by Mrs. Vernon Woods which was seconded by Mr. Nelson. Mrs. Bass reported on the ALA Mid-Winter meeting in New Orleans which she attended the first week in January. Mrs. Bass is the Louisiana membership representative of the ALA Trustees' Association. Mrs. Rembert reported on the 1966 circulation and the completion of the project which involved relocating the Genealogy Department and the Children's Room. A date for the opening of the Cedar Grove Library will be set after the furniture and equipment have been delivered. Mr. Hardy O'Neal proposed that the library board extend their sincere appreciation for the years of faithful service given by Mrs. Bass in performing her duties as the Chairman of the Shreve Memorial Library Board. This motion was seconded by Mrs. Woods and unanimously approved. Mrs. Rembert was requested to invite Miss Kathryn Adams, State Library Field Consultant to meet with the Shreve Memorial Board members to discuss building plans and possible application for Federal funds under Title II of the Library Services and Construction Act. Mr. Nelson asked the Board members to act as a committee to meet and discuss plans for a new main library bu9ilding or the remodeling of the present building.
