Mrs. Charles C. Phillips, Jr. has been appointed-bookmobile librarian of the Caddo Bookmobile Demonstration, Miss Essae M. Culver, State Librarian, announced today. Mrs. Phillips, a graduate of L.S.U. and the library school of Columbia University, has had wide experience in library work. She was the first trained children's librarian in Louisiana and worked for several years as children's librarian in the Shreve Memorial library. In addition she has had experience in the New York Public Library and the New Rochelle Public Library. During the war she served as librarian for the Field Air Inspector's Office in Indianapolis. For the past several years Mrs. Phillips has been the librarian at Southfield School in Shreveport. Mrs. Phillips will supervise the service to be given by bookmobiles to the areas outside of Shreveport that are not served by branches Miss Culver said.
